A movement where thinkers used observations and experiments to learn about the world
Natural law
Idea that there are laws in nature that are basic to both the natural world and human affairs
Geocentric theory
The idea that the Earth is the center of the universe with other Heavenly Bodies circling it
Heliocentric theory
The idea that the Earth revolves around the Sun
Newton’s three laws of motion
- an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it
- the force of an object is equal to its mass times its acceleration
- when two objects interact they apply forces to each other of equal magnitude and opposite direction
Inductive reasoning
Method of looking at facts and using the facts to reach a conclusion
Scientific method
A several step process that utilizes experiments observations and structured reasoning to draw conclusions and gain knowledge

To ban dangerous or offensive ideas

The power of the mind to think and understand in a logical way
Enlightenment
Time where Scholars used rationalism and natural laws to explain culture and Society
