Sciences force’s Flashcards
What is a force
A force is a push,a pull and a twist
What is a contact force
A force that has to be touched for it to activate
What is a non-contact force
When a force works even when it doesn’t touch like to magnets
How do you measure forces
You can measure a force with a nutonmeater
What is a balanced
A balanced force is when 2 different forces are working on one object at the same time, if they they are balanced they cancel each other out because they are the same on both sides
State the equation to calculate speed
D/T remember Downing Street D/T=speed D/S=time S/T=distance e.g. Speed=100m/205=5m/s so you dived them by each other
What does gravitational force depend on
Gravitational force depends on
. The mass of the object
.how far apart they are
State the equation to calculate the weight of an object
W(n)=mass(kg) x gravitasional field strength (N/kg)
What is ment by an unbalanced force
It is when two forces are acting on one object at the same time and one of the foces is stronger so it moves in favour of that force that is bigger. Take a car for example the engine is pushing when the wind is pushing against but obviously the engine would win ‘cause it is stronger
What dose someone going at a constant speed look like on a speed distance time graph
It looks like a diangnale line at a speed that in this question doesn’t matter
What does it look like when someone is beying stationery (standing still ) on a distance time graph
It just looks like a straight line
What does an equilibrium force mean
It is the same as a balanced force and is when 2 forces are acting on an object at the same time but they are equal nothing happens and they cancel each other out
