Q

What is a wave?

A

A wave is a disturbance that carries energy from one place to another. A wave disrupts the particles by moving them back and forth or up and down

Q

What is a mechanical wave?

A

Waves in which matter moves back and forth in repeating patterns. In a mechanical wave, the disturbance is the motion of the particles of matter.

A

A very short wave

17
Q

Define frequency

A

The number of vibrations in a short amount of time

18
Q

What is a wave showing high frequency

A

A very skinny and tall wave

19
Q

What is a wave with a low frequency?

A

A very low or no movement wave

20
Q

What is the difference between a longitudinal and tranversal wave?

A

The difference is how they react to the disturbance

21
Q

How are longitudinala nd transversal waves similar?

A

They both originate from a disturbance and they are both mechanical waves

22
Q

What are the 4 wave behaviors?

A

-diffraction
-absorbption
-transmitted
-reflected
