Science Vocab Unit 3 Flashcards
Anything that takes up space and has weight.
Matter
Tiny pieces that make up matter.
Particles
Mixes completely with a different material.
Dissolves
A mixture in which the particles of a material are dissolved with the particles of another material.
Soloution
The way the particles in a piece of matter move.
State Of Matter
A combination of two or more substances whose particles are not joined together.
Mixture
A material where each part of it is made of the same type of particle. No two particle types have exactly the same properties.
Substance
A property that describes how well a substance allows electricity to pass through it.
Electric Conductivity
A characteristic of matter that can be observed or measured.
Property
A property that describes whether a substance can dissolve in another substance.
Solubility
A change of a substance from one state of matter to another. Some common state changes include melting, freezing, evaporation, and condensation.
State change
A process where one or more substances are changed into new substances.
Reaction
A property that describes how well a substance allows heat to pass through it.
Thermal Conductivity
