What is a pure substance?
A substance that is made of only one element.
What is a Heterogeneous/ Mechanical Mixture?
A mixture with visibly different components in different area’s of the mixture.
What is a Homogeneous Mixture?
A mixture in which each space is identical to the next.
What is diffussion?
The process where particles from one substance spread out and mix with particles from another substance.
What is osmosis?
When a solvent (like water) goes through a semipermeable membrane (of a living cell) into a solution with a higher solute concentration.
What is the difference between osmosis and diffusion?
Osmosis is the movement of a solvent from a low solute concentration to a high solute concentration. Meanwhile, diffusion is the movement of all particles from a high concentration to a low concentration.
