Q

What causes planets to be grouped together?

A

Gravity. Our sun is a huge object, and therefore has a lot of gravity. That is why 8 giant planets, minor planets (asteroids), comets, and dwarf planets orbit the sun. Part of the reason the bigger planets are further is that they are so big that the sun has a bit of trouble pulling those planets in, and so, therefore, the bigger planets stay in the back.

Q

What is gravity?

A

Gravity is essential for life on Earth.
-It keeps us on the ground.
-Albert Einstein said that there exists a fabric of reality. When an object with great mass exists in the fabric of reality, the fabric bends, and when it bends, all smaller objects with mass revolve around that large object.

It is the force by which one body draws smaller objects toward its centre. Gravity also keeps things in orbit.

Q

How is the universe arranged?

A

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. The milky way Galaxy is one of the hundreds in the local supercluster. The universe consists of many local superclusters, therefore there are thousands of galaxies. Each galaxy has many star systems and usually one huge black hole in the center, that keeps the rest of the galaxy together.

The universe is arranged with structures. Starting from planets, stars, and other bodies, to galaxies, to a supercluster, to our universe.
