Science stuffs Flashcards
Lights are not affected by gravity. True or false
False. Lights are affected by gravity by a very very small value of 0.000000000000001. It’s small but it’s not zero :D
What is the farthest on earth you can get from anything on earth?
12,750km, it’s the earthly distance limit or the diameter of the earth
What is the hottest planet in our solar system?
Venus is the hottest planet in our solar system with a surface temperature of over 450 degrees celcius.
Pluto is now considered as a…
Dwarf planet
Which planet rotates on a horizontal axis?
Uranus. It rotates on an entirely different axis than earth and the other planets, i rotates up and down on a horizontal axis.
High tides and low tides are caused by
The moon and the sun
What is the most abundant element in the universe?
Hydrogen, about 75% of the planet.
Why is it dark at night? Well there are kazillions of stars in the universe but why is it still dark at night?
The farther the stars are from us the faster they move away from us and they become redder, any farther and the light becomes INFRARED which human eyes can’t see. The wavelengths of light expand as it travel in the universe, thus most of it becomes infrared.
Why are there different colours?
There are different wavelengths of light, longer wavelength results to the color red and shorter wavelength results to the color violet.
Which wavelength is longer, infrared or ultraviolet
Infrared
How does the color black is produced?
The color black is produced when the pigment absorbs all the colors red, blue and green, the primary colors.
The color white is produced when the pigment doesn’t absorb the primary colors.
Emission of light by a substance not resulting from heat.
Luminescence
