Conditioner varieties: Surface
Cream or mousse product that work on the outer
cuticle of hair shaft to smooth and coat with
mortising ingredients that make the hair shiny.
Conditioner varieties: Penetrating
Products penetrate the cuticle temporarily reinforces
the cortex area; this improves both strength and
elastic of the hair.
Conditioner varieties: Leave-in
Light weight products that are left on not rinsed out.
They contain ingredients that attract moisture this
helps to rehydrate the hair shaft.
Conditioner varieties: Scalp
Conditioning oils are applied directly to the scalp to nourish and moisturise dry skin.

Hair structure: Medulla
This is a core that runs down the centre of the hair shaft. It
is only present in medium to coarse hair. It contains soft
keratin.
Hair structure: Cortex
The cortex is the thickest layer in the hair shaft; it contains
several layers of compacted elongated cells - these contain
keratin and the pigment that gives colour to the hair.
Hair structure: Cuticle
This is the outer layer, consisting of a thin overlapping layer of
cells that are flat and scale like. They contain hard protein and
their function is to protect the hair.
