What is Persicion
How close together or how consistent your info is
What is accuracy
How correct your answer is
What is a measurement
Using equipment to find information
What is a Calculation
Using a mathematical formula to find information
What are the 3 different ways to measure volume?
LWH, Water displacement, set up an equation using density and mass
What is the Archimedes Principle
Water Displacement
What is the difference between Mass and weight
Mass is the amount of matter in something and Weight is the gravitational pull on an object
What substances are pure?
Elements, Compounds
What substances are not pure?
Mixtures
What substance(s) cannot be broken down
Elements
What substance(s) can be broken down/separated
Compounds: Broken Down
Mixtures: Seperated
What measurement is used when finding mass
(g) Grams
What is a heterogenous mixture?
Something you can tell is made up of multiple different things
What is a homogenous mixture?
Something consistent throughout
What are the signs of a chemical change?
Color Change
Temp Change (exo/endothermic)
A gas created
A solid created
What has unique properties
Elements, compounds (different than the things that makes up the compounds)
What is a physical property?
Something that describes how a material looks and feels
What is a chemical property?
Something that describes how a material will react with other materials
What is an element made up of?
MADE UP OF A SINGLE TYPE OF ATOM
What is a compound made up of?
MADE OF TWO OR MORE SPECIFIC CHEMICALLY COMBINED ELEMENTS
What is a mixture made up of
Made of 2 or more substances not chemically combined
What is the difference between a molecule and a compound?
A molecule is a group of 2 or more atoms that can be the same and compounds have to be diffrent
What is the difference between a property and a change?
Property describes something
How do atoms in a solid move
Slowly - vibrating
