Q

What’s a convex lens?

A

Middle is thicker than the edges, causing light to come together or converge. It also causes parallel rays to converge

Q

What lens does human eye have?

A

Humans have convex lens. It refracts light and focussed them.

Q

Near-sighted:

A

Your eye is too long, the image forms in front of the retina. You can’t see far. You need a concave lens.

Q

Far-sighted:

A

Your eye is too short, the image hasn’t formed by the time it reaches the retina instead it forms behind the retina. You can’t see close. You’ll need convex lens.

Q

What’s a shutter?

A

It’s a device that limits the passage of light. It can let it more light by staying open longer.

16
Q

What is a lens?

A

Focuses light.

17
Q

What a vitreous humour?

A

A clear liquid taking most of the room in the eye; provides support in the eye. (The white part).

18
Q

What’s a retina?

A

Has light sensing cells and receives light and sends to the brain.

19
Q

What is fovea (focal point)?

A

Where light focuses.

20
Q

What’s an optic nerve?

A

Connect the eye to the brain.

21
Q

What’s a refracting telescope?

A

The light from a distant object is collected and focussed by a convex lens called the objective lens. Second part is called the eyepiece lens, like a magnifying glass to enlarge the image.

22
Q

What’s a reflecting telescope

A

It uses a concave mirror to collect rays of light from a distant object. The mirror is called the primary or o he give mirror. Form real image = magnified by the eyepiece lens.

23
Q

Whats a reflecting telescope?

A

It uses a concave mirror to collect rays of light from a distant object. The mirror is called the primary or o he give mirror. Form real image = magnified by the eyepiece lens.

24
Q

What’s a binocular?

A

Two refracting telescopes mounted side to side. The telescopes are shortened by placing glass blocks inside. It reflects back and forth inside a short tube. These prisms greatly reduce the distance between the two lenses by allowing the light Rey to be reflected several timee off their surfaces.

25
Whats accommodation?
It’s a process of changing the shape of the lens to adjust for a different object distances.
26
What’s the blind spot?
The point where the optic nerve enters the retina.
27
What’s a telescope?
Used to view things out of our reach, like planets, space, stars, etc.
28
What’s a microscope?
Used to see things out of our sight, like bacteria, plants, any small micro objects.
