A planet is a large nearly round space object that orbits a star.

A moon is a large rocky object that orbits a planet.
dwarf planet
A dwarf planet is an object that orbits the sun,is larger than an asteroid and smaller than a planet.
Mercury
closest to the sun, smallest planet, no atmosphere.
Venus
The second planet from the sun, Earth’s closest neighbor, the atmosphere here is strong enough to crush a car.
Earth
The only planet we know of that has living things on it, is the third planet from the sun
Mars
The fourth planet from the sun, iron minerals in the soil on this planet gives it a rusty red color.
Jupiter
Fifth planet from the sun, if you went to mars you would have nowhere to land because it is made mostly from gas.
Saturn
The sixth planet from the sun, the second largest planet in the solar system, the wind on Saturn could tear apart a spacecraft, its rings make it easy to identify
Uranus
The seventh planet from the sun , third largest planet in the solar system.
Neptune
The eighth and last planet, has a few rings but are very faint, all of the gas giants are windy but Neptune’s winds are the fastest.
