Climate:
The average, year after year conditions of temperature, precipitation, wind and clouds in an area
Tropical Zone:
The area near the equator
Polar Zones:
Areas near both poles
Temperate Zones:
The zone between tropical and polar
Marine Climates:
Mild winters and cool summers
Continental Climates:
Winters cold and summers warm or hot
Windward:
Side of the mountain the wind hits
Leeward:
Side of a mountain that’s downwind and a rain shadow
Monsoons:
Sea and land breezes over a large region that change direction with the seasons
Rain forests
Forests in which large amounts of rain fall year round
Savanna’s
Scattered clumps of trees that can survive the dry season
Steppe
A prairie or grassland
Deserts
A dry region tht doesn’t get much precipitation
Humid subtropical
Climates that are wet and warm
Subarctic
Climate zone that lies north of the humid continental climates
