Four things an animal needs to survive
Water, shelter, oxygen, and food
Adaptations
A feature of behavior that helps an animal survive.
Physical Adaptation
A part of an animals body that helps it survive. For Example, beavers teeth, fishes gills
Behavioral Adaptation
Animal changes its action to survive. For example, possums play dead and lions roar.
Camouflage
A color, patter, or shape that helps an animal blend into its environment.
Hibernation
A kind of sleep that animals do in the winter (low body temperature and slow heart rate)
Migration
Movement: traveling done by some animals to another place as the seasons change
Food Obtainment
Special beaks or teeth that animals have in order to obtain food.
Locomotion
Being able to move to food, water, or shelter
Defense
An action to keep animals from being hurt

Observation, prediction and inference
Observation
Using your senses to know what is “for sure” about the picture
Prediction
What you think will happen in the future
Inference
Using your observation to make a “good guess” on what you think is happening
Ennvironment
It is a place that animals and plants live.
