Q

Why would a break in the main stem of a plant cause it to die?

A

It would break the tubes that carry water and nutrients from the roots to the leaves, then the leaves couldn’t make food. With a break in the tube water and food couldn’t move from the leaves back to the other parts of the plant

A

nonvascular

18
Q

why are vascular plants generally taller than nonvascular plants

A

water must soak into nonvascular plants and passes slowly from cell to cell so they must be near the ground. Vascular plants can draw up water so they can grow tall

19
Q

What would scientist do if they found an animal that doesn’t fit into any kingdom?

A

Talk to other scientist about adding a new kingdom
