Science Flashcards
an example of a one celled organism with no nucleus
monerans
an example of a nonvascular plant
mosses
in what living things are sharp senses and large brains usually found
vertebrates
an example of a mollusk would be a
snail
any plant that has flowers or cones is a
vascular plant
Why would a break in the main stem of a plant cause it to die?
It would break the tubes that carry water and nutrients from the roots to the leaves, then the leaves couldn’t make food. With a break in the tube water and food couldn’t move from the leaves back to the other parts of the plant
What would be an example of an amphibian?
a frog
How would understanding the science of living things be more difficult if they weren’t classified?
it would be more difficult to find and share information about living things and how they relate to one another
what would be an example of an invertebrate?
clam
one example of a moneran is
bacteria
Where would nonvascular plants most likely be found?
Along a riverbed or where the ground is most wet and moist
reptile
snake
amphibian
frog
reptile
turtle
tree
vascular
flower
vascular
moss
nonvascular
why are vascular plants generally taller than nonvascular plants
water must soak into nonvascular plants and passes slowly from cell to cell so they must be near the ground. Vascular plants can draw up water so they can grow tall
What would scientist do if they found an animal that doesn’t fit into any kingdom?
Talk to other scientist about adding a new kingdom
