Science Flashcards
Define Force.
A push or pull acting on an object
Define Distance.
Measures the length between objects or points without a given direction
Define Velocity.
How fast and what direction an object is moving in
Define Direction.
The location of something relative to something else.
Define Acceleration.
The rate of change of velocity.
Why is a frame of reference important when discussing motion?
It is important because the position of a moving object can be defined only when there is a fixed reference frame.
Give an example of how different frames of reference would lead to a different motion being observed.
They will both measure to be traveling at different speeds.
