Q

What is the process for a current SCU student to transfer into the School of Business?

A

Students must complete one year in their original college, and may then apply to transfer into the Leavey School of Business. The number of students accepted each year for transfer into Business is dependent on the number of openings, and therefore is usually highly selective and more difficult than being admitted as a first year student.

Q

Describe the Business Core Curriculum.

A

In addition to SCU Core requirements, Business students must take a variety of class in economics, accounting, business law, data analysis, and Intro to Business for the lower division Business Core. At the upper division level, students must complete Common Core of Knowledge classes, including finance, marketing, management and OMIS, as well as completing a capstone project. This ensures that Business students have an breadth of knowledge that stretches to all areas of business and not just their major.
