Session Musician
My role puts me in charge of the administrative side of the recording process. I schedule times with clients, publicise my facilities, employ sound engineers and session musicians, pay staff and ensure health and safety of equipment. Who am I?
Studio Manager
I spend time working on the recording process, overseeing the mixing and mastering of such recordings. I select and purchase equipment/order repairs. I set up equipment such as microphones and fix when required as well as carrying out sound checks prior to a session. Who am I?
Recording/Studio Personnel (eg; sound engineer, tech support, assistant engineer)
I complete the recording process producing the final mix. I have to refine the sound quality, subtly changing the audio to create an appealing sound. I prepare the audio in the desired format (eg; mp3, mp4). Who am I?
Mastering Engineer
I am in change of the overall recording process ensuring this is on time and on budget. I oversee the creative/artistic direction. I liaise with all people involved in the recording process. I gather ideas and select songs. Who am I?
