- The pantheon was an innovative design using a rotunda (circular cella)
- It propageted the strength of the Roman Empire through the use of egyptian granite.

- Further symmetry is made from the AMOR ROMA of Love (Venus) and Roma
- The Venus cella contained an altar where newly wed couples could make sacrafices
- Directly next to this stood a large silver statue of Marcus Aerelius and Faustina the younger
- Hadrian wanted to prove himself as a good Emperor
