At least 2 of the following sx’s must be present and one of them must be #1, #2, or #3
1. Delusions
2. Hallucinations
3. Disorganized speech
4. Grosslyl disorganized or catatonic speech.
5. Negative symptoms

Duration of schizophreniform disorder

Answer 2

At least 1 month, but less than 6 months (after 6 months, the dx changes to schizophrenia).

For a dx of schizophreniform disorder, is impairment required?

No.

What other diagnoses must be ruled out for a dx of schizophreniform disorder

Answer 4

Depression with psychotic features and bipolar I with psychotic features.
