What are the main diagnostic criteria for brief psychotic disorder?
Presence of 1 or more of: delusions, hallucinations, disorganised speech or grossly disorganised behaviour (at least 1 must be one of the 1st 3 symptoms)
Duration of an episode is at least 1 day but less than one month with eventual full return to premorbid functioning
What are the main diagnostic criteria for delusional disorder?
The presence of one or more delusions for a month or longer
Criterion A for schizophrenia has never been met
Functioning is not markedly impaired and behaviour is not obviously bizarre
If manic or major depressive episodes have occurred these have been relatively brief compared to the delusional periods
What are the main diagnostic criteria of schizophreniform disorder?
Two or more: delusions, hallucinations, disorganised speech, grossly disorganised or catatonic behaviour or negative symptoms. Each present for a significant portion of time during a 1month period (at least 1 must be one of the 1st 3 symptoms)
An episode lasts at least 1month but less than 6months
What are the main diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia?
Two of more: delusions, hallucinations, disorganised speech, grossly disorganised or catatonic behaviour or negative symptoms (at least 1 must be one of the 1st 3 symptoms) each present for a significant portion of time during a 1month period
Level of functioning is impaired
Continuous signs of disturbance for at least 6months
What are the main diagnostic criteria of Schizoaffective disorder?
An uninterrupted period of illness where there is a major mood episode (depressive or manic) with criterion A of schizophrenia
Delusions or hallucinations for 2 or more weeks in the absence of mood symptoms during the lifetime of the illness
Mood symptoms present for majority of the time
