  1. ID of specific activities of work required and interrelationship between those items (precedence relationship)
  2. Proper sequencing of specific activities of work in order to complete project in optimum time frame
  3. Time for delivery of materials and installed equipment
  4. Types, quantities, and duration of use of construction equipment
  5. Classification and numbers of workers required and the periods of time they are required for
  6. The Amount and timing of financial assistance required
    Note: first two items are scheduling portion, remainder is derived from or added to schedule

To create a schedule, you need to…

  1. Identify specific activities of work required, at a level of detail that reflects the complexity you desire in the schedule- this is called the work breakdown structure, or WBS
  2. Identify relationship between specific work activities and their proper sequencing in order to complete project with optimal time and budget

Non network schedules
1. bar(Gant) Chart
- easy to create, read, understand
- most common NNT
- can show logical relationship between activities
- Difficult to show/calc effects of delays, changes, etc
Network schedules
1. CPM (critical path method)
- AOA (activity on arrow) diagram
-AON(activity on node) diagram
