antonio praises the French court. Bosola is the cardinals servant, he complains about his service and about the corruption. Antonio says he likes bosola.

ferdinand, cardinal, Duchess, her lady Cariola, and Julia enter. Antonio complains about cardinal and Ferdinand. but loves the duchess. ferdinand and cardinal get bosola to spy on the Duchess. he reluctantly agrees.

ferdinand and cardinal say they don’t want duchess to marry “poniard” reference. they leave. the duchess says she wants to remarry. she gets Antonio to marry her with cariola as a witness.

Bosola is mean to an old woman. he says he thinks the Duchess is pregnant so gives her apricots. she eats them and gets sick. delio suggests to say that bosola has poisoned her.

bosola is sure the Duchess is in labor. he argues with Antonio who is very stressed. the duchess’s jewelry has apparently gone missing so everyone is locked up. the baby is a boy, Antonio gets his horoscope.

antonio see bosola and questions him. they argue again and Antonio gets a nose-bleed cause he’s so upset. he drops the horoscope and bosolas gets it and plans to tell Ferdinand and cardinal

julia and cardinal have a relationship dispute. delio offers her money to be his mistress, likely to spy on the cardinal. delio fears that the secret baby is not secret.

ferdinand is FUMING. he’s imagining his sister hooking up with all sorts of guys. cardinal tells him to get a grip,. Ferdinand is still fuming.

duchess has had another child. people think shes a strumpet. ferdinands back. he suggests she marry Malatesti. she says nah. he tries to get info from bosola. he intends to make her confess that night.

duchess and Antonio are having flirty chats. antonio and cariola have the great idea to leave the Duchess and make her talk to herself. ferdinand comes in and hears her. he tells her to kill herself :/ she says that she’s married. he says he’ll kill them. duchess pretends to fire antonio. Bosola says he wont say anything about the marriage, but he might.

the cardinals planning some solider stuff. Bosola tells the brothers about antonio. they plan to banish them to ancona.

dumbshow, cardinal banishing them to ancona, pilgrims see this as a bit unfair.

ferdinanrd requests to speak with antonio, duchess and antonio say no. she advises antonio to take their eldest to milan. she is captured and placed under house-arrest.

act 4 scene 1

ferdinand goes to speak with the duchess, offers peace then makes her kiss dead hand. she freaks out. lights up and BAM her dead husband and kid (wax figure) she really wants to die. bosola feels bad but ferdinand sends him to get madmen.

the duchess is bombarded by madmen. they leave and bosola says he’s here to kill her. she says “i am duches of malfi still bitch” she gets strangled. cariola begs for her life and also gets yeeted. ferdinand gets mad at bosola for killing them. she wakes up and dies again.

pescra is after antonios land. delio asks is he can have them and he says no. julia asks is cardinal can have them and he says yes. he says hes still loyal to antonio. antonio plans to speak with cardinal.

ferdinand lycanthropia wolf boy. he tries to strangle his shadow. cardinal pretends to not know about duchess death asks bosola to kill antonio. julia comes in with a pistol trying to get on bosola. he says she has to spy on the cardinal. she does and he tells her about the duchess death then makes her kiss the poisoned death bible.

echo scene, really ironic hears his wifes voice doesnt know shes dead.

cardinal admits hes going to kill bosola. antonio comes in to speak with cardinal. bosola accidentally stabs antonio. he tells him that his families dead. bosola moves the body.

Question 20

act 5 scene 5

bosola says hes gonna kill cardinal. the cardinal freaks out like a lil bitch. bosola kills a servent then wounds cardinal. ferdinand comes in and wounds cardinal and stabs bosola. bosola stabs him back n kills him. cardinal dies. bosola say about the worl being hiorrible then dies. delio enters with the eldest son and says he will re-establish the courts.
