Scene 2 Lines Flashcards
Garbiela: Where are you going?
Fantine: I have to get my snakes.
Garbiela, you’re out of the play.
Garbiela: You told me I could do lighting.
Because I took you at your word. But then a little bird told me to check where you came from. You said you went to the Wayfair High School, but you went to Kachina High School until two weeks ago.
Garbiela: I went to the Wayfair School in the summer.
There is no Wayfair School. And there’s not one single high school in the country that’s done Waiting for Godou.
Garbiela: Wayfair is secret, for reasons having to do with my mother’s employment, which is also secret.
Your parents divorced when you were six. Your mother lives in Tucson. She’s a bookkeeper and you only see her in the summer. Goodbye.
Garbiela: What about lighting?
I don’t believe you know anything about lighting.
Garbiela: Then how could I have aready designed a lighting plot?
You didn’t.
Garbiela: … The ghost enters on a moonlit night, so a cold light streams through the windows.
Lovely. You’re rehired.
Voices (SFX): Where is she
Garbiela: Where did that come from?
Where did what come from?
Voices (SFX): You were supposed to be watching her!
Garbiela: There!
Do you still hear it?
Stauncher: Do you still hear it?
Garbiela: No.
Go get some rest.
Garbiela Fauntine, you are going to get a part. I promise–
Shhh!
Go back to your own class.
Collister: Listen to me.
I’m tired of listening to you.
Collister: Why did you let Garbiela take part in the play?
I don’t need to explain my decisions.
Collister: She lied to you.
I need a lighting person. She knows what she’s doing.
Collister: Don’t tell me. She talked about intensity, color, direction, and focus. That’s not knowledge. That’s Wikipedia.
This isn’t your program anymore. It hasn’t been for a long time.
