What is a ‘scaphoid fracture’
A
- Most commonly fractured carpal bone 2. 70-80% occur at the waist of the scaphoid bone

What is the mechanism of a ‘scaphoid fracture’
A
- Dorsiflexion and compression of the radial aspect of the palm - fall outstretched - forced dorsiflexion ie. steering wheel

- Tenderness over the anatomical snuff box 2. Tenderness over scaphoid tuberacle 3. Pain on longitudinal compression of scaphoid by the thumb
