Structure???
Step by step procedure:-
Structure - Aims to create an overview of the material to be memorized, helps with a basic understanding and logical hierarchy of how all the parts fit together (organization). Uses mind map.
1. First read the material.
2. Sketch the mind map of it.
Attention-> The purpose of attention is to create a clear mental picture of what is seen with all its details, which is used to create memory. Interest (comprehension, and even previous knowledge) plays an important role in maintaining the attention.
Chunk ???
Step by step procedure:-
Break information into smaller pieces of meaningful chunks, which can be easily associated and manipulated. Like sticking leaves in a tree branch. Chunk the material to smaller pieces of information - convert the information into a list.
1. Simplification - Distilling complex ideas into simple mental images, that are easily understood.
2. Symbolization - Converting complex ideas to easily to remember symbols.
Associate ???
Step by step procedure:-
It associates pieces of information (chunks) with easy to remember images. By remembering the images, you can retrieve the information.
Association techniques - Encoding techniques - Used to convert concepts into easy to remember images.
Localization ???
Structural techniques - Helps to create structure for your mental images - placing images along a well-known path- Memory palace.
Memorize ???
Memorization of images. Repeat going through this route several times, and then on a periodic basics.
- Review - Simulate walking through the path where images are placed.
- Rehearsal - Go through the material again with images in your mind.
Special point to notice:
Finally combine all the images into one.
