SBTi Flashcards
Which 4 organizations founded the SBTi?
- CDP
- World Resources Institute (WRI)
- United Nations Global Compact
- WWF (World Wildlife Fund)
What are the 3 requirements of the SBTi
- Near Term Target. 5-10 year timeframe of emissions reductions that in line with the amount needed to be in-line with the 1.5°C pathway
- Long Term Target. Reduce emissions to a “residual level” by no later than 2050.
- Neutralize Residual Emissions. Company must use carbon removal and storage technologies to remove the residual amount of CO2 they emit once they reach their net-zero target.
For a Near Term target, what is the % of “Coverage” (included for accountability in your boundary) of your Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions for your Near Term Target?
95%
If your Scope 3 emissions are greater than 40% of your total, what is the % of “Coverage” (included) of your Scope 3 emissions for your Near Term Target?
67%
What is the % of “Coverage” (included) of your Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions for your Long Term Target?
95%
What is the % of “Coverage” (included) of your Scope 3 emissions for your Long Term Target? What term do they use for the increase of Coverage % from the Near Term to Long Term target?
90%
Expansive Boundary Approach
What are the 5 Stages or Steps of the SBTi Journey

45%
