What if you cannot Speak English- can you access SBL’s website?
For non-English-speaking residents, they can still access information on our website – sarahbush.org. Just direct them to scroll to the bottom right corner and click “Select a Language.”
What if a non-English speaker calls the Hotline?
Find out the language. Say “Please hold for translation” then hit HOLD AND CONF CALL Language Line for an interpreter. You need the sbl “client ID” number. Select language and hit connect. Stay on the line.
For non-COVID doctor’s office telephone visits, what is the process
- patient agrees to the telephone “office” visit
- they are called at the same time as their scheduled appointments. They are registered over the phone, history and vitals taken by a nurse and then the medical provider visits with them.
What if I need non-emergency medical care?
People who are sick, or injured and need medical care that is not an emergency, should call their primary care provider or go to one of the other three walk-in clinics in Charleston (2040 Lincoln Ave.), Tuscola, (1100 Tuscola Blvd.), or Effingham, (905 N. Maple). After hours and in emergency situations please go to the nearest ER.
