Recall that gametes are produced by meiosis.
Sexual reproduction uses the process of meiosis , which creates gametes . These are sperm and eggs (ova) in animals, and pollen and ova in plants. The process of meiosis happens in the male and female reproductive organs

each chromosome replicates. 2 copies remain attached, making each chromosome like X> 2 sets of chromosome pair up, form 23 pairs, then separate in 2. 2 compass of chromosome in each X shape split into another 2 cells.

As when they fuse (sperm and egg), they both have 46 chromosomes.

Describe where genes are found.
Genes are found in chromosomes and chromosomes are found inside cells. Your body is made of billions of cells. Cells are the very small units that make up all living things.
Recall the function of genes.
A gene is a small section of DNA on a chromosome, that codes for a particular sequence of amino acids , to make a specific protein . It is the unit of heredity , and may be copied and passed on to the next generation.
