Unsaturated solution
When more solute can dissolve
Saturated solution
When no more solute can dissolve;the amount of solute in the saturated solution can be calculated using the solubility at specific temperature
Mass of solute =solubility x volume of solvent/solution at specific temperature )
Supersaturated solution:
When more solute dissolved than in the saturated solution(at specific temperature). This can be made by heating up a saturated solution and dissolve more solute in to the solution, then cool down slowly. The solution is now unstable, crystals easily form
Crystallisation
When a saturated solution cools down, solute will form crystals as the solubility decreases. Solute can also crystallise with a reduced amount of solvent when solvent is evaporated off.The amount of crystallisation with cooling of the solution be calculated by working out the difference of the solubility at the different temperatures and times by the amount of solvent
