Could you please introduce yourself?
My name is Sandy Townes, I am 18 years old, and I attend Athena High School.
What schools do you want to attend?
I am looking at places like MIT and CalTech.
What do you plan on doing after High School?
I plan on pursuing my real passion which is computer programming and computer technology with a focus on artificial intelligence after high school.
How are you going to pay for those high caliber schools?
My late granduncle Jeff Tazos who recently passed away and he left me a two million dollar inheritance I plan on using towards my education.
Who, to you, is Dr. Leyton Manns?
He was the Superintendent of my school until the school year of 2023-2024 when he left and went into politics. He was also the person who cut the Computer Science club out of the budget that year.
What was the Computer Science Club (CSC)?
It was a club where people could learn to develop their computer skills which can lead to rewarding careers in the computer industry.
What did the CSC mean to you?
A lot. My computer skills improved tremendously because of this club and to see all that I have worked for was taken from me was devastating.
What was your place in the CSC?
When I was a freshman I was the treasurer, sophomore the vice president, and then the president when I was a junior.
As President of the CSC what did you do when you learned the CSC was being defunded?
I wrote a note to Manns and asked to meet, which we did on June 20th 2023.
Why did you meet with Dr. Manns?
The main point of meeting with him was to restore funding to the club. I told him how much the club meant to me and many others and what skills people learn from the club. But out of nowhere he starts asking for the names of people who created insulting graphics about him.
What were these computer graphics?
Some unidentified members of the club had produced some graphics about Manns when he was re-elected for county legislature.
Do you know any member of the CSC that made them?
No. I had no part in that sort of activity and the ones who made these graphics still are unidentified.

Yes, This looks like a copy of one of those computer graphics that made fun of Manns back in 2022.
Is this a fair and accurate representation of one of those many computer graphics?
Yes, this looks exactly like one of those.
What is being depicted from this image?
This looks like the superintendent being called a baby with the graphic.
Could you describe this graphic?
This graphic depicts a baby crying with a mess all around them with the caption, “Does the Superintendent need their diappy changed”
What is your reaction to this graphic?
This is the first time I am seeing this one but, it’s kind of shocking that someone made this. It is a little bit funny.
Did others find this graphic funny?
I can’t say that people found this one specifically funny but it was graphics like these that people laughed at.
What is the nature of this graphic?
It looks like just a simple meme and nothing more
What is a meme?
A meme is just a funny picture usually with a caption to get people to laugh.
What if anything happened at that meeting?
After he was done pressing me for the names I asked him to restore funding to the club and he told me to chalk it up as a lesson well learned and denied it.
What was your reaction to that?
I was furious when he said that because he decided to shut down the whole club all because of the actions of a few! What was even worse was that he said it would be a lesson well learned for us when most of us did nothing at all!
When the school year started that year, what was left of the CSC?
All that was left in the Computer Science Club was a singular computer. Just one. Me and other former Computer Science Club members could access the room during lunch or free periods. That was it.
What was it like without the CSC?
This was the first time in decades that the Computer Science Club was gone. Especially for me who had put so much effort into the club it was very disheartening.
