Syllabic
One note per syllable.
Conjunct
When notes are all within two semitones of each other. (bars 27-30)
Disjunct
When notes are many tones appart. (vocas in verce one)
Chord symbols
Tell the guitarist what chords to play.
Sincupated
Where the accent is off the beat. (verse two)
Homophonic
One melody with accompaniment. (bar 4 to end)
Diatonic
All notes fall within the key signature. (vocals in verse one)
Chromatic
Not all notes fall within the key, there are accidentals. (notably bars 27 & 28)
Altered chords
Chords that are not in the standard order.
Extended chords
When a 5th or 7th is added
Descending sequence
When a sequence is repeated a number of notes lower. (vocals is bars 4 - 11)
Monophonic
One melody (bar 1-3)

Acustic bass
Notes are one octave lower than that of a guitar and are E, A, D, G
Rubato
No set timing but must concord with the time signeture.
Range
Difference between highest and lowest note.
Mordant
Where a note one lower than that is written, then a note one higher is written then the actual written note is played.
Double stop
Playing two notes at the same time.
Bosa nova
A mixture of the jazz and samba genres.
Glissando
A slide between notes (on guitar).
Triplet
Three connected quavers.
Immitation
Where a melody is repeated by a different instrument often with slight vairiation.
Cross rythem
Clashing two melodies.
Pollyphonic
Where two or melodies are played at once.
Augmented
An interval played a semitone higher than perfect.
Coda
Meaning ‘ending’, This means go to the ‘coda’ symbol.

Go back to the begining.
Virtuisistic
Means hard to play.
