28
What happens in the story of the Creation of the World (Genesis 1 and 2)?
God creates out of love, for love, to love in order for us to manifest and share His glory, turns things from darkness to light and brings order to things without order
29
What happens in the story of the Creation of Man and Woman (Genesis 1:26-31, Genesis 2:18-25)?
God made man in His image and likeness, with a spiritual soul (intellect and will) so that we can choose to love Him and manifest His glory here and for eternity
30
What happens in the Covenant-The Sabbath Day (7th Day) (Genesis 2:1-3)?
Man is not made for constant work. We are made to rest in Him and His love. God rested on the 7th day and He commands that we rest as well
31
What happens in The Fall of Adam and Eve (Genesis 3:1-13)
Satan tempted Adam and Eve to eat out of the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Because of this, God promises to protect Eve by putting her on top of Satan, along with Eve's offspring. God had to have Original Justice because if they ate from the tree again, we wouldn’t be able to have salvation. Adam and Eve ruined Original Holiness by doing this, bringing on Original Sin. This also predicts Mary, who will always end up on top of the devil, crushing the head of the devil. This also predicts Jesus, who will come and save us from the sin that came into the world when Adam and Eve ate the fruit.
32
What happens when Adam and Eve Expelled from the garden (Genesis 3:14-24
Because of the state of sin Adam and Eve were in, they had to get expelled from the garden out of Mercy. If God let them stay, and they ate out of the tree of Life again, we would be unable to be saved, to have a savior. It was Mercy God kicked them out, so in the fullness of time Jesus could come and save us.
33
What happens in Cain and Abel (Genesis 4)?
Cain killed Abel because Abel worshiped God better and was jealous of him. Because the first born was dead, and Cain disgraced himself, Seth had to get the blessing, one of the many times in history where the first born doesn’t get it.
34
What happens with Noah and the Ark (Genesis 6-8)?
Noah was the only righteous person in his time. So, God commanded him to make an ark with 2 of every animal in it. God then flooded the land, killing everything in it. The number 7 symbolizes perfection, God was making the world better again, making a new creation, when he flooded the world. It also means covenant, signifying that Noah is one of the covenants. Noah was on the ark for 40 days and 40 nights.
35
What happens in The Covenant with Noah (Genesis 9)?
God created a covenant with Noah, telling Noah to be fruitful and multiply. Noah agreed, and the covenant sign was a rainbow. Noah is one of the 7 covenants God created with humanity. God also allowed humans to survive off of eating animals.
36
What happens in Noah’s Drunkenness and His Sons: Ham and Shem (Genesis 9)?
Noah got drunk off of wine, when off the ark. He was naked and Ham saw him, making fun of him. Because Shem already had the blessing, Noah cursed his son Canaan. Noah also gave Ham the blessing, another time when the first born doesn’t get it.
37
What happens in Tower of Babel (Gen 11)?
The descendants of Canaan wanted to create a name for themselves, to “be like God without God”. God didn’t like this and scattered them across the world, he also confused their languages so they couldn’t understand each other. The undoing of that is Pentecost.
38
What happens in the Covenant with Abram and His Faith - circumcision (Gen 12, 15, 22)?
Abram had great faith, so God made a covenant with him, God wanted Abram to trust him. God made 3 promises: great nation, great name, and world wide blessing. God told Abram that his descendants would be as numerous as the stars.
39
What happens in Abraham and Hagar (Gen 16)?
Abraham and Sarai had no children. They were getting old, and worried about how they would have descendants without a kid. They didn’t trust God, so they had Sarai's servant Hagar have a kid with Abraham, and they together had Ishmael.
40
What happens in Abraham, Sarah, and Isaac - sacrificed (ram) (Genesis 18,22)?
Sarah and Abraham still were not able to have children which made them think that they couldn’t have any. God then gave them new names because he wanted it to signal their relationship with God and how he wanted them to trust in him. He changed Abraham to Abram (meaning father of multitudes) and He changed Sarai to Sarah (meaning princess) God then gave Sarah a son in her very old age, his name was Isacc (meaning one who laughs) God then went on to test Abraham’s faith so he asked him to sacrifice his only son Issac. God then told him to start right before and that proved his faith.
41
What happens in Isaac and His sons: Jacob and Esau/Jacob gets Jacobed (Gen 25, 27, 29)?
Isaac married Rebekah and they gave birth to twin sons. Named Jacob and Esau. Isaac’s favorite of the sons was Esau and he decided to give him his blessing in his very old age. This made Jacob really mad so he decided to deceive his father and trick him into giving his fathers blessing to himself. Esau then was mad at Jacob and wanted to kill him. Rebekah heard of this and told him (she favored him) to flee. While Jacob was away he met Rachel and married her after 7 years but was tricked into marrying her older sister Leah. He then kept trying and after 7 more years they finally married and had 12 sons. Joseph was the youngest and was their favorite. Jacob gets deceived.
42
What happens in Jacob wrestles with God and is renamed Israel (Jacob = deciever) (Gen 32:22-32)?
Jacob, along with his two wives, his maidservants, and his twelve children, set out to reunite and bring gifts. At one point, Jacob was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until the break of dawn. During the struggle, Jacob declared, “I will not let you go unless you bless me.” The man responded, “You will no longer be called Jacob. Instead, your name will be Israel,” thus marking the beginning of a new nation.
43
What happens in Joseph and His 11 Brothers (Gen 37-50)?
Joseph was the favorite among the twelve brothers, which angered them and filled them with the desire to harm him. Despite this, Joseph remained confident that he was meant for good because God loved him unconditionally. His brothers, driven by jealousy, sold him into slavery. Yet, through all the hardships and suffering, God stayed by Joseph’s side, blessing him with dreams that would ultimately save many people from starvation.
44
What happens in God reveals his name at the burning bush ... "I AM" (Exodus 3:14-15)?
In the book of Exodus, many people are renamed by God to signify that He has chosen them to rise from sin and work alongside Him. This is why the Hebrew name for Exodus means “names.” The story tells of a mother who sought to save her baby from Pharaoh’s decree to kill all firstborn sons. She placed him in a basket and set him afloat on the river, hoping to spare his life. Instead of perishing as she feared, the baby was discovered by Pharaoh’s daughter, who named him Moses, meaning “drawn out,” because she drew him out of the water. As Moses grew, God chose him to lead the Israelites out of slavery. One night, while Moses was tending a flock, God appeared to him in a burning bush and called him to this mission. God instructed Moses that if the Israelites asked for His name, he should say, “I am who am sent me to you.” This declaration reflects God’s desire for an intimate and personal relationship with His people. Through His deepening relationship with Moses, God demonstrates His longing for closeness with all of us. He reveals His heart for intimacy, showing that He desires us to draw near to Him and to walk closely in relationship with Him.
45
What happens in The Plagues of Egypt and Pharaoh’s Hardened Heart-Passover, fulfilled with Last Supper (Exodus 7 -12)?
God was angered because the Egyptians were worshiping false Egyptian gods and keeping the Israelites enslaved under Pharaoh’s command. To free His people, God sent Moses to ask Pharaoh to release them so they could journey to the Promised Land. However, Pharaoh refused. In response, God decided to show the Egyptians the powerlessness of their gods by sending ten plagues. After each plague, Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he continued to reject God’s command. The final plague was the death of the firstborn. To protect His people, God instructed them to take a lamb, slaughter it, and place its blood on their door frames as a sign of purification. This act would ensure that the plague would pass over their homes. This event, known as Passover, not only freed the Israelites but also symbolized the coming of the Lamb of God—Jesus—who would one day bring ultimate purification and lead His people to salvation.
46
What happens in The leading of Egypt and the parting of the red sea (Exodus 14)?
During the final plague, Pharaoh’s firstborn son was killed, and he finally agreed to let the Israelites go. Moses led them toward the Promised Land, but when they reached the Red Sea, God told Moses that Pharaoh had changed his mind and was coming after them with 600 chariots. God parted the sea, creating a dry path for the Israelites to cross safely. Once they reached the other side, the Egyptians followed, but God closed the sea, drowning Pharaoh’s army. The Israelites rejoiced, knowing they had escaped Pharaoh’s rule forever.
47
What happens in Manna in the Desert (Exodus 16)?
The Israelites continued their journey through the desert to the Promised Land, but there was little food, and they began to starve. They complained to God out of fear, and because He cared for them, He provided manna in the morning and quail in the evening. This time of rest with God was called the Sabbath, a day to pause and be with the Lord. Today, this is reflected in our Sundays (Sabbath), when we attend Mass and rest with God.
48
What happens in Covenant - 10 commandments @ Mt. Sinai w/Moses (Exodus 20,24)?
God promised the Israelites that they would become a holy nation and a kingdom of priests. To guide them in living a holy life, He gave Moses the 10 Commandments on Mount Sinai. These commandments served as instructions for living according to God’s will and achieving a worldwide blessing. They also revealed how deeply God desires a relationship with us, showing His commitment to helping us become the best people we can be so we can grow closer to Him.
49
What happens in Golden Calf | Levitical Priesthood (Exodus 32)?
While Moses was on the mountain for a long time, the Israelites began worshiping the Golden Calf. This revealed that Egypt was still within them, as they had adopted the practice of worshiping false idols like the Egyptians. When Moses came down, he was furious at their deep sin and worked to redirect their hearts and minds back to God.
50
What happens in Tabernacle and Ark (Exodus 36-40)?
God wanted to create a place where the 10 Commandments could be stored and where His people could draw near to Him through proper worship. To accomplish this, He instructed Moses and the Israelites to build a movable tent called the tabernacle and place the 10 Commandments in an ark. They followed God’s instructions carefully, showing their dedication to Him. Once everything was completed, Moses anointed the tabernacle and its furnishings, and the glory cloud of God’s presence appeared, filling the tabernacle. The Levites were entrusted with the care of the Ark of the Covenant, using it as the central place for worship.
