Salt preparation methods Flashcards

1
Q

Titration

A

use an acid-base titration to find exact volume of soluble base that reacts with the acid. mix the correct proportions as this will produce a solution of salt and water. warm solution to evaporate water allowing salt crystals to form

Q

using carbonates and oxides

A

measure concentration of acid and add extra base for complete neutralisation and then filter off the solid and collect filtrate that contains salt. heat to evaporate water and remain with soluble salts
