Answer 1

• raise the house lights of the theatre - immerses the audience in the experience (immersive theatre)
• have a spotlight on Salieri that grows brighter and ends up blindingly bright - similar to an interrigation light as he sings about the “yet-to-be-born” we can assume to be Mozart
• Minimalistic Set (Grotowski = Mr Simple) - symbolises Salieri’s end of days as his career has faded away along with his sanity

“[he rises] Let me try to conjure you now” - How would you direct this scene?

Answer 2

• Utilise Brechtian movements (Gestus/mechanical movements) - Salieri has become dishevelled and crooked; no longer the man he used to be
