What does a club licence allow you to do?
Sell and supply alcohol for consumption on the premises to:
- any club member
- a guest of any club member
- a member of another club that has a reciprocal agreement of visiting rights.
What does a special licence allow you to do?
This licence is for events and can be used to sell alcohol for extended periods or at a special event for a specified time.
Are minors allowed in a supervised area?
Yes, when accompanied by a parent or guardian or if they are working there. No other circumstances are they allowed there.
Are minors allowed in a restricted area?
No, unless they are working but they are not allowed to sell alcohol.

247 - Unauthorised sale or supply (selling after hours)
284 - sells or supplies to intoxicated persons
249 - allows a person to become intoxicated
252 - allows an intoxicated person to remain on licensed premises
253 - allows disorderly behaviour on licensed premises
256 - allows persons on premises after hours

(1) if a riot is taking place or there are reasonable grounds to believe that one will break out.

What does section 36 of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 state?
A constable may TAKE a person whom they find intoxicated in a public place or trespassing on any private property and the person is incapable of protecting themselves, are likely to cause physical harm or likely to cause physical damage you can take them to:
- Their home unless it is not safe or impractible
- take to temporary shelter
- Take them to a police station for up to 12 hours to sober up.
