What does a driver do if the details of a TA are incorrect?

When do we Cancel Train Authority Forms?
Authority is fulfilled
When an Error is made on the form
How do we cancel TA?
Locally controlled location:
Hand to signaller, who will cancel the form and notify TC of cancellation time
Remotely controlled location:
Driver will cancel, and notify TC of cancellation time
What is a DCPM and its purpose?
Dual Control Point Machine
Enable remote control of points by signaller
OR
In case of failure, allow driver to operate points under instructions from signaller
What are the levers of a DCPM?
Selector lever (smaller)
Hand throw lever (larger)
What are the positions of the DCPM selector lever?
MOTOR
- allows remote control of points
- prevents manual point control
HAND
- prevent remote control of the points
- protects the train by holding corresponding signal at stop
What are the positions of the hand throw lever?
NORMAL (N)
- points set for regular movement
REVERSE (R)
- points are set for a diverging movement
What might you be asked to do once your train has cleared a manually controlled DCPM?
Return to the DCPM
Return selector lever to MOTOR
Return hand throw lever to NORMAL
How do you operate a DCPM?
Unlock the levers
Move the selector lever to the “HAND” position
Move the hand throw lever to the opposite position, then the desired position
Lock the levers
What is an EHPM and its purpose
Electro Hydraulic Point Machine
Enable the points to be remotely controlled
OR
In case of failure, allow a driver to operate the points under signaller instruction
