- Gauge is in green
- Safety pin is removed
- Secured in bracket
- Red indicator is present
Operation for BCF?
1- Lift red safety latch
2-Hold upright
3-Spray at base of fire
4-Spray in a slow sweeping motion
What can you use to cool down non flammables after extinguishing it?
Cool it down with water
Give examples of fixed equipment
- emergency slides
- automatic fire extinguishers
- smoke detectors
- cabin crew harness
- jump seat harness
- emergency lights
- oxygen systems in FD & Cabin
Where are the PBE’s located?
1x Flight Deck
2x FWD LKR LEFT
2x REAR LKR RIGHT
What do you do with any used equipment
Must be stowed away from original stored location so it doesn’t get mistaken. Except the portable oxygen bottles which need to be placed back into their brackets.
What are some precautions when using a BCF
Side effects could include dizziness, impaired concentration and coordination
oxygen masks should be worn by flight crew if discharging on flight deck
Don’t allow any metal to make contact with live wires
How do you pre flight check a PBE?
Make sure the seal hasn’t been tampered with and humidity indicator is blue.
Where is the crash axe located?
in the flight deck behind the captain
What are precautions for PBE ?
Don’t use unless you hear oxygen flow
Remove sharp earrings or glasses to avoid tearing neck seal
After cooling, dispose in dangerous goods bag
Don’t hold by the generator.
How do you DOFF the PBE?
1-Go to a safe place away from fire and smoke
2- Lean forward, grasp top and pull off your head.
3-Run hands through hair to get rid of any excess oxygen
What do you need to check when all CC have left the aircraft
The PBE and ensuring heat indicator is still blue
What colour is the heat resistant gloves
Yellow
Where are the 310 oxygen bottles located
2x Rear bulkhead left
2x Mid cabin right
