• Transmitted through bodily fluids
Bacteria
• One-celled micro-organisms, infectious micro-organisms include; Bacteria, viruses, fungi, parasites.
• Prominent in dust, dirt, trash and diseased tissue. Can exist almost anywhere.
Bacteria is Spread By:
• Skin, water, air, etc…….. decayed matter, food, body secretions, clothing, free edge of nails
What is Direct Transmission of Bacteria?
Through blood or bodily fluids, through touch, kissing, coughing, sneezing, talking.
What is Indirect Transmission of Bacteria?
Through contact with a contaminated object, such as razor, scissor, towel, counter, brush.
What is Non-Pathogenic Bacteria?
Non-harmful, helpful.
Examples: Found in yogurt, cheese, and some medicines. In the body, helps break down food and fight infection.
What is Pathogenic Bacteria?
Harmful and disease producing, infectious causing.
