Seeing and being seen; checking mirrors, ensuring other drivers see you

Leaving space in front, behind, and both sides; especially avoiding collision in front of you
What is communication in Defensive Driving?
Keep eye out for pedestrians, bikers, etc. for signals to slow or stop, as well as signaling yourself (use your horn when needed)
When should you choose not drive?
Very sick/injured, drinking alcohol or taken impairing drugs/meds, tired, very upset/angry
How can you get to know your vehicle?
Check manual, know where controls are, check warning lights, knowing where controls like wipers, lights etc. are without having to look
