Sad Story Flashcards
Paragraph 1
I woke at looked into the mirror. A blank, lugubrious expression filled my face. A cloud of depression flowed through my mind, as the thoughts rained down on my conscious. Monotonous, repetitive, cyclical. The feeling left in a fleeting manner, but never quite evaporated from my mind; the feeling it washed over my body like a wave on a coastline. I stepped into the shower, a void expression covered my face. Looking into the mirror, my once ocean blue eyes - vivid and full of life - faded into a granite grey. A cemetery lay, resting. The life was gone. After leaving the shower, I got dressed into the same suit, shoes and picked up my keys to embark on the mundane journey. The same as always.
Paragraph 2
As I explored the metropolitan maze of the city, I looked around at the concrete jungle. I dreamed and yearned for a life where I enjoyed the pleasures of pastoral life. The sun glaring at me, displaying its golden glisten onto my skin and bark of the trees. Instead, the droplets of rain rolled down my window, as the flurry of black, grey and silver cars stopped at the red traffic light. The environment was almost lunar in nature, being eclipsed being the immense lack of colour. Grey and black covered the city, like plaster on a wound, stopping any flow of life into asphalt jungle. By this time, I had already arrived at the office building. The cycle continued.
