Baptism - when someone is baptised in name the trinity and annointed with chrism
Confirmation - renewing baptismal vows as they receive the strength of the holy spirit
Eucharist - when someone receives the transubstantiated host
Reconciliation - where someone is forgiven of their sins and brings them closer to God
Anointing of the sick - gives seriously ill people oil of the sick , absolves their sins
Marriage - a Man and a Woman coming together for a partnership for life and for God , the ceremony involves Bible readings , prayers a homily and exchange of vows and rings
Holy Orders - Men consecrated into the ordained ministry
Importance of baptism
Catechism states without baptism one cannot have any other sacraments
Baptism brings one into the catholic church
washes away original sin to allow them salvation
Importance of confirmation
makes the person a full member of the church
gives strength of the holy spirit to lead a Christian life
own choice to follow faith now
reasons why Catholics go on pilgrimage
Closer to God
add discipline to their spiritual life
to be cured by illness or to gain inner strength to cope with illness
