sacral somatic dysfunction Flashcards
rules in sacral torsions
L5 sidebending will engage oblique axis on that same side
L5 rotation and sacral rotation is opposite
seated flexion test is opposite the side of the oblique axis
sacral torsion
sacral motion about an oblique axis
weight bearing during walking-neutral
weight bearing L- L oblique axis
forward sacral torsion
occurs when spine is in neutral
left on left or right on right
backward sacral torsion
occurs when the spine is in a non-neutral position
right on left or left on right
sacral torsion vs sacral rotation
torsion have L5 rotate opposite the sacrum
rotation have L5 rotate the same as sacrum
bilateral sacral flexion
deep sulci and posterior ILA bilaterally
negative spring test
no change with backward bending test, motion about middle transverse axis
bilateral sacral extension
decreased lumbar curve
ILA’s equal, sulci shallow bilaterally
positive spring test
SULCI stay equal with backward bending test
