S3- Metering Flashcards
The maximum ampacity of the watthour meter load range in amperes
Class (CL)
The rated operating voltage of the watthour meter
Voltage
The number of “phases” or different “legs” in the service that are being metered
Wires (W)
The manufacturers “name” of the meter
Type
States that this is a one element or one stator meter
“Single Stator”
ANSI standard designation for the construction and method of measuring as described in ANSI C12.10
Form
the rated frequency of the watthour meter
Frequency
current level at which the manufacturer designs the meter for optimum accuracy and operation. Also known as the load that the “full load” calibration testing is performed
Test Amps
The meter’s watthour constant
Kh
The specified period of time over which the electrical load is averaged
Demand Interval
Device that indicates or records the demand, or maximum demand, or both over the billing cycle
Demand Meter
The ratio of average load over a designated time period to the maximum demand occurring in that period
Load Factor
Load Factor
can be recognized by either a secondary clock-type register or a sweep-needle that indicates the demand reading of the meter
Electromechanical Demand Meters
These meters will have an annunciator or label that indicates the type of electronic reading displayed on the register
Electronic or Solid State Demand Meters
