What can you say about Japan’s Location?
It is made of 4 main islands, it’s just off the Eastern Coast of Asia, and its nearest neighbours are: Russia, China and South Korea.
What can you say about Japan’s Landscape?
Most of it is covered in small, steep mountains, which cannot be farmed on. The remaining flat land, around the coast, is very small and crowded.
What can you say about Japan’s Climate?
It is quite wet and mild, similar to the UK, however the South is more tropical.
Why are there many old people in Japan?
Due to its low death rate, people live a lot longer. This is because of their good healthcare, diet, high quality housing and sanitation.
Why aren’t there as many kids in Japan?
Its low birth rate, caused by work, the fact that children get sex-education at school, access to contraception like the Pill, women are educated and have careers, and just the fact that children cost too much money.
Why has Japan become so successful?
It has a hard-working culture, where failure is considered a disgrace and the fact it has a good education system. It has developed high-demand industries like cars and electronics. It is also in a good location for trade as it is an island with many ports.
