S2 - Binomial Distribution Flashcards
What do you need to include at the start of a question about binomial distribution?
- Define X (ie. X = nº…..)
- X ~ B(n, p)
What do you do if you have a probability of P(X ≥ a) = 0.4
Use InvB
OR
Use distribution setting on calculator, have a random x value and change the 0.4 value once graph has been made
What can discrete distribution be described as?
Binomial
For a one tailed hypothesis test, complete the following:
H0: p …. 0.3
H1: p …. 0.3
H0: p = 0.3
H1: p < 0.3
OR
H0: p = 0.3
H1: p > 0.3
For a two tailed hypothesis test, complete the following:
H0: p …. 0.3
H1: p …. 0.3
H0: p = 0.3
H1: p ≠ 0.3
What part of the binomial picture would H1: p < 0.3 be?
One tailed on the left hand end
What part of the binomial picture would H1: p > 0.3 be?
One tailed on the right hand end
What part of the binomial picture would H1: p ≠ 0.3 be?
Two tailed with significance evenly split each end
