o s18 cannot be committed by an intention to wound. D must have intended to commit GBH to satisfy the MR (even if the actual harm was a wound).
o D must have intended to cause GBH - recklessness will not suffice
o s18 captures incidents where D has tried to evade arrest and caused injury to the officer
