Stream of consciousness

Subplot
A technique used by writers to expose foolishness or corruption.
Satire
The strong connection or link between two of the senses. Describing.
Synesthesia
Sonnet form that has three quatrains and a couplet in iambic pentameter
Shakespearean Sonnet
System of signs and significance that help under see the underlying principle of the human culture. The signs are only understood when in relation to other signs
Structuralism
Arrangement of words and phrases to create well formed sentences in a language
Syntax
Rhetorical device that starts with an argument with a reference to something general and draws conclusion to something more specific.
Syllogism
Italian form of poetry, stanzas of three lines, called tercets. Iambic pentameter. Interlocking rhyme scheme.
Terza Rima
An illusionary place that projects will be notion of a perfect society to the reader. An area with perfect and unrealistic morals
Utopian Novel
Literary, political, and philosophical movement of the early nineteenth century.
Transcendentalism
When a character talks to themselves. Used to reveal information to the audience.
Soliloquy
An underlying and often distinct theme in a piece of writing or conversation; reading between the lines.
Subtext
Analyzing a poem visually to pick out the stressed and unstressed syllables also it’s metrical foot.
