Section 7
What must you RTS and RTB to exercise this power ?
RTS
Person is unlawfully at large
RTB
Person is in that place or vehicle
What powers do you have under S7 ?
Enter - the place or vehicle without warrant
Search - the place or vehicle for the person for the purpose of arresting them
Section 8
What must you RTS and RTB ?
RTS
Person has committed an offence punishable by imprisonment and for which they may be arrested without warrant
RTB
Person is IN or ON the place or vehicle
AND
If entry is not effected immediately
- Person will leave there to avoid arrest OR
- EM relating to the offence will be CADD
What powers do you have under S8 ?
Enter the
- Place OR
- Vehicle
Search
- Place OR
- Vehicle
For the person for the purpose of arresting them.
Section 9
What RTS and RTB you need to exercise this power ?
RTS
- Person is U/L at large OR
- Has committed an offence punishable by imprisonment.
RTB
The person is in or on the vehicle.
What powers does S9 give you ?
STOP the vehicle for the purpose of ARRESTING the person
When exercising s9, what does Police policy state ?
Wearing a Police uniform or distinctive cap, hat or helmet with a badge of authority affixed to that cap or helmet
OR
By following immediately behind the vehicle and displaying flashing blue lights or flashing blue and red lights AND OR sounding siren.
Section 10
What RTS and RTB you need to exercise this power ?
RTS
A person is unlawfully at large
OR
Has committed an offence punishable by imprisonment
RTB
The person is in or on the vehicle
What powers do you have under S10 ?
Require - the person (U/L or committed the I/O) to supply all or any of his or her name, address, other contact details and DOB
Search - the vehicle for the person
Search - the vehicle for EM in relations to the offence the choice was stopped for IF person arrested or is seen fleeing before they can arrested.

What RTS and RTB to exercise this power ?
RTS
14+ offences has been committed or is being committed or is about to be committed.
RTB
That EM relating to the offence is in that place AND
If delayed in order to get a SW the EM will be CADD
What powers do you have under S15 ?
Enter - place without warrant
Search - a place
Where else can you search under s15 ?
A vehicle if the vehicle in the place you are searching.

What RTS and RTB to exercise this power ?
RTB
Person is in POSSESSION of EM relating to an offence 14+ years I/O
What powers do you have under S16?
Search - a person without a warrant in a PP
Section 17
What RTS and RTB to exercise this power ?
RTB
EM relating to an offence 14+ I/O is IN or ON the vehicle
What powers do you have under S17?
Enter - A vehicle that is in a PP without warrant
Search - a vehicle
Section 18 (1)(2)(3)
What RTS and RTB to exercise this power ?
RTS (1) and (2)
- carrying arms OR
- possession of them OR
- under their control
AND
- breached the AA1983
OR
- they have reason their physical or mental condition is
- incapable of having proper control of the arms OR *may kill or cause GBH to any person under the DV Act 1995 (A PO, PSO)

- They are armed in the place and vehicle AND
- in respect of which Cat3 offence has been committed OR
- A Cat4 has been committed
OR
- And offence against the AA1983 has been committed OR
- EM in relations to Cat3/4 or offence AA1983
What powers do you have under S18?
1) and (2
Search - The person and anything in their possession e.g. car
Enter - A place or vehicle to carry out any active under paragraph A or B
Seize - and detain arms found
Seize - and detain any license under the Arms Act 1983 that is found
What powers do you have under s18(3) ?
Enter - a place or vehicle
Search - a place or vehicle
Seize - any arms or any license under AA1983 found there
Detain - the arms or license if he or she has reasonable grounds
