(S) Damons Supporting Research Evidence Flashcards

Q
What is the evidence to support Kohlberg’s claim that gender stereotyping emerges at around age 6.
A
There is evidence to support Kohlberg’s claim that gender stereotyping emerges at around age 6. Damon’s study of children who were told about a boy who liked to play with dolls found that children ages 4 thought it was fine, whereas 6 year olds thought it was wrong, appearing to have developed rules about gender behaviour.
