How do you calculate the cash price of a drug?
A
- type P in search
- press enter
- type the drug name
- select strength and manufacture
- press enter
- select patient
- type C for cash
- enter quantity
- press enter
price will display without insurance

What are the two different ways to process a refill?
A
if the patient knows the script number type it into the search function alternatively use F8 for multiple scripts
if the patient does not know the script number head to Patient Profile and select the line number of the script to be filled

How do you create a new patient profile?
A
- first verify that the patient is not already in the system by utilizing the advanced search in patient profile screen
- then Add patient (A) while in the patient profile

How do you set up scripts for automatic refill?
- select (RE) while in patient profile
- select the scripts the patient wants automatically processed

How do you search for patients in the patients profile?
- use the first 3 letters of the patients last name
- followed by the first 3 letters of their first name

How do you place a script that has not been picked up (after 2 weeks) onto hold?
- scan the recent script label
- scan the barcode on the bottle
- enter (YES) when asked to place on hold
- scan or type credentials and new label will print
- remove old label and stick new label on
- make sure to leave a courtesy call to the patient if it is a new script fill or a partial fill completion

What is the purpose of the (E) edit button?
- can be used to update a scripts expiration date if it is less than 1 year
- can be used to update the promise time

What is the process to enter a new script?
- select F5 for patient profile
- search for the patient
- press (space bar) and (enter) to generate a new script
- enter drug name by searching with 11 digit NDC or first 3 letters of drug name
- Enter the (DAW Number)
- Enter Prescriber
- fill out remaining info and check (DO NOT FILL BEFORE) for certain narcotics

What are the different (DAW) numbers?
0 = generic or brands w/o generic
1 = brand medically necessary or no substitution allowed

How do you enter insurance information?
- search by Bin Number and PCN
- type the matching line number
- enter details like policy holder, group ID, person code, etc on insurance card

What is the purpose of the (QT) Triage que?
- all insurance rejections
- new e-scripts
- prior authorizations
- faxes
- patient follow up calls
- pre-entered scripts from drive thru
- data entry errors

What are the common issues displayed in the Triage Que?
Auto Entry: (third party is offline press (R) periodically to readjudicate
In Process: Another team member is working on the rejection
Inventory Issue: This is an OOS situation contact patient
DUR Rejection: there is a potential drug interaction
TP Rejection: issue with insurance
Verification Reject: Problem with data entry and is sent back to pharmacist. Double Check Error

Explain the Adjucation of Insurance
Press F12 to make sure that prescription has gone through insurance after processing both refills and new scripts.
Shows patient name, status, and patient pay
Red: insurance is rejected
Green: Successful; co-pay is displayed
Yellow: Insurance Pending

What are the steps for OOS and Partial Fills
Select O under new prescription or refill
Select “2”: not enough to fill.
Contact patient, document action using guidelines, and an action note will print on prescription label.
The completion fill will go to QI.

How do you hardcopy scan a script?
Scan hard copy after data entry, label will print, affix to back of prescription.
If in drive thru: M4>>P to print batch back tag and R to reprint single back tag.

How do you move a drug to the QV ?
Scan prescription label and drug to move to QV.
